Do goats eat wild rose & briars?
Yes — thorns are not a defense against goats.
Wild rose, briars, and bramble tangles defeat mowers (wrapped axles), hand crews (shredded gloves), and casual landowners (all of the above). Goats browse them as comfortably as blackberry — their mouths handle thorny brush by design, and rose foliage is nutritious browse.
Like blackberry, the root crowns survive a single pass, so expect the graze-regrow-regraze cycle: each round comes back thinner. Where a thicket shelters a fence line or drainage you need permanently clear, goats followed by mechanical crown removal is the efficient one-two.
